Fairfax, Va.-- The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Rep. Lee Terry for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District this November.
“Lee Terry is a steadfast supporter of freedom. He earned the NRA-PVF endorsement by standing up for our Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. “Nebraska’s gun owners and hunters appreciate his strong dedication in the U.S. House of Representatives.”
Rep. Terry cosponsored and voted for the District of Columbia Personal Protection Act, which would repeal the D.C. gun ban/registration statute and restore the right of self-defense to law-abiding residents of our nation’s capital. He cosponsored and voted for legislation to end reckless lawsuits against gun manufacturers and for legislation to prohibit gun confiscation from law-abiding Americans during states of emergency.
Terry signed the pro-gun congressional amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in support of the individual right to keep and bear arms in the historic Heller case. He also signed the congressional amicus brief stating that the Second Amendment guarantees a fundamental right that applies to all Americans, no matter where they live, in the McDonald case. In addition, Rep. Terry cosponsored the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity amendment, which would extend federal protection of state right-to-carry licenses and permits across the country, and legislation to force much-needed reform of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
“Lee Terry’s pro-gun voting record and steadfast support for individual gun ownership rights has earned him an “A” rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF,” Cox continued. “We ask all Nebraska gun owners, hunters and NRA members in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District to vote Lee Terry for Congress on November 2nd.”
