Fairfax, Va.-- The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is endorsing Jaime Herrera for election to the U.S. House of Representatives for District 3 in Washington this November.
“The NRA-PVF is proud to support Jamie because we know she will be a staunch defender of the Second Amendment freedoms of law-abiding gun owners, hunters and sportsmen in Washington and across America.”
During her time in the Washington state Senate, Rep. Herrera sponsored legislation to prohibit gun confiscation during states of emergency, as happened after Hurricane Katrina. She also supports legislation to reform the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) and supports the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act that would extend federal protection of state right to carry licenses and permits across the country. Rep. Herrera has also said she supports repealing the D.C. gun ban and registration statute, which would restore the right of self-defense with firearms to law-abiding residents of our nation’s capital.
Jaime Herrera’s solid pro-gun voting record in the Washington State Legislature and her commitment to preserving the Second Amendment has earned her an “A” rating and the endorsement of NRA-PVF.
“Jaime Herrera will be a strong voice in fighting ongoing efforts by anti-gun politicians to dismantle the Second Amendment,” Cox concluded. “We ask all Washington gun-owners and hunters to elect Jamie Herrera to the U.S. House on November 2nd.”
Chris W. Cox is NRA's chief lobbyist. He also serves as chairman of NRA-PVF. The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is responsible for political candidate rankings. These are based on candidate voting records, public statements and responses to NRA-PVF questionnaires.
