NRA-PVF Endorses Melvin Neufeld for Re-Election in Kansas’s 115th House District

Wednesday, July 14, 2010

Fairfax, Va. -- The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is pleased to endorse State Representative Melvin Neufeld (R-115) for re-election in Kansas’s Republican primary on August 3rd.

“Through his many years of service in the Kansas State House of Representatives and his multiple leadership positions, Melvin Neufeld has been responsible for sponsoring, co-sponsoring or shepherding through every piece of pro-gun legislation during his tenure,” said Chris W. Cox, chairman of NRA-PVF. “Because of his consistent support for the Second Amendment, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is proud to give Rep. Neufeld our highest rating, “A+,” as well as our endorsement.”

During his time in the Kansas State House of Representatives, Rep. Neufeld helped enact laws to expand self-defense; prohibit local government firearm confiscations during natural disasters; protect employees from termination for keeping a firearm locked in their personal vehicles while at work; and prohibit local governments from enacting local gun control. Most recently, he voted in favor of legislation to strengthen home self-defense protections (SB 381) and a comprehensive right-to-carry reform bill (SB 306). Rep. Neufeld has also been a vocal supporter of the constitutional amendment in Kansas to establish a fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms, which will go before citizens of Kansas for a vote in November.

“The choice is clear for NRA members and gun owners in Kansas’s 115th House District,” concluded Cox. “Melvin Neufeld is the best person to serve them. I ask every NRA member, hunter and gun owner to vote for Melvin Neufeld on August 3rd.”

Chris W. Cox is NRA's chief lobbyist. He also serves as chairman of NRA-PVF. The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is responsible for political candidate rankings. These are based on candidate voting records, public statements and responses to NRA-PVF questionnaires.
