The City of Cottonwood in the future will allow firearms to be carried its public parks. Since its code was adopted in 1993, firearms, with the exception of Fourth of July fireworks, have been excluded from the city parks under the code. The amendment sought this week would make the city ordinance language consistent with current state law, which "trumps' local law, advised the city attorney. He described it as a "supremacy change."
