At 2:30 a.m., two armed men broke into the home of Ken Fields, in Columbus, Ohio. The burglars kicked through a dead bolted door and immediately went to the bedroom of Fields’ son. The burglars told his son to get up, while pointing their handguns at him. Fields’ daughter was also confronted by the armed men, but ran when they ordered her to the floor. Meanwhile, Fields snuck to another part of the home to get a gun. After retrieving the gun, Fields confronted the burglars, who were reluctant to drop their handguns. The burglars pointed their handguns at Fields and told him to drop his gun. Fields responded by firing at the armed criminals, causing them to flee the scene. Police are searching for the suspects, one of which Fields believes may have been struck by his shot. No one from the Fields family was hurt in the incident.
