If a man`s home is his castle, then that man has every right to shoot an intruder who would dare to break in. That`s the gist of Senate Bill 184, the Castle Doctrine bill. It presumes that a resident acted in self-defense if he or she used force against someone who unlawfully enters the person`s home or occupied vehicle. Pushed by the National Rifle Association, the bill passed the Senate unanimously yesterday and now moves to the House.
