Virginia Protecting the Rights of Gun Owners!

Please Contact Your State Delegate Today!

Earlier this week, the House of Delegates Agriculture, Conservation and Natural Resources Committee unanimously passed House Bill 1175, sponsored by Delegate Scott Lingamfelter (R-31). HB1175, as well as an identical bill already passed by the Senate Senate Bill 617 sponsored by Senator Ken Stolle (R-8) -- would establish an “apprentice hunting license” which would allow for novice hunters to join experienced licensed hunters in the field to receive a first-hand introduction to Virginia’s proud hunting heritage.  Both of these measures are supported by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, and are part of the “Families Afield Initiative,” which is a collaborative effort between NRA, U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, The National Wild Turkey Federation and the National Sport Shooting Foundation.

Finally, earlier today the House Militia, Police and Public Safety committee unanimously passed House Bill 982, sponsored by Delegate Dave Nutter (R-7). HB982 is the House bill that will protect the privacy of Virginia’s concealed carry permit holders and prohibit their names and other personal information from being released to the public.

As both HB982 and HB1175 are now heading the House floor next week, please call your State Delegate and strongly encourage him to support and vote for these important bills! To find your Delegate click here.  Also, please contact the members of the House Militia, Police and Public Safety committee and thank them for the efforts to protect Virginia’s nearly 150,000 concealed carry permit holders.
