On Wednesday, February 6 the House Judiciary Committee will consider House Bill 1066, sponsored by State Representative Cory Gardner (R-63). This “Castle Doctrine” legislation would extend self-defense protections beyond the home to include businesses. HB1066 would grant civil and criminal immunity for using deadly force if that person is faced with a threat of great bodily harm or death in his or her home or business.
Please contact your the members of the House Judiciary Committee and your State Representative and respectfully urge them to support HB1066 to allow business owners to protect themselves and their place of business.
