Please Contact Governor Blunt Today!
Today, Thursday, May 17, the House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 225, sponsored by State Senator Bill Stouffer (R-21), by a vote of 158-0.
SB225, also referred to as the "Hunting Heritage Protection Areas Act," will protect traditional hunting areas within the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers 100-year flood plain from unchecked development. Additionally, SB225 provides that localities may not prohibit the lawful discharge of firearms for hunting or recreational shooting in the protected areas, therefore preserving this critical wildlife habitat for current and future generations of hunters and sportsmen.
SB225 now heads to the desk of Governor Matt Blunt (R) for his consideration. Please contact him today at (573) 751-1588 and respectfully ask that he sign the “Hunting Heritage Protection Areas Act.”
