Responding to an outpouring of opposition from law-abiding gun owners, Mayor Jerry Jennings’ adminstration appears to be backing away from outrageous proposal introduced at Tuesday night's Common Council meeting in Albany (see Times Union story by clicking here).
The proposal includes firearms registration, a ban on so-called "assault weapons", a ban on private sales and mandatory storage -- and that's just a few of the provisions contained in this all-out assault on legal gun ownership!
Although it seems the gun-grabbing mayor may be retreating, gun owners cannot rest, as we expect that the mayor will try to push some other useless, face-saving measure through the Common Council.
If you live in Albany please contact Mayor Jennings at (518) 434-5100 and the Common Council at (518) 434-5090 to voice your opposition.
If you don't live in Albany, please call Mayor Jennings and the Common Council and let them know you will no longer do business in the City of Albany for fear of being a criminal.
