February marks the birth of presidents Washington and Lincoln. Another president was born in February: Ronald Reagan. While his Hollywood background was ridiculed, it gave Reagan the platform to issue robust messages. Further, his tough negotiations on behalf of his fellow actors, and the death threats he faced in battling communists infiltrating the industry--he slept with a Smith & Wesson revolver--further steeled him.

Today, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois struck down provisions of the Protect Illinois Communities Act (PICA) that prohibit “assault weapons” and “large-capacity magazines” in an NRA-supported case, Barnett v. Raoul.
