Today, Tuesday, February 13, House Bill 2547 is scheduled to be heard by the Senate Local Government Committee at 2:00 p.m.
HB 2547, sponsored by Delegate Charles Carrico (R-5), would clarify that localities are prohibited from regulating the possession/carrying of a loaded firearm on public roadways, except for the purposes of hunting.
In 2006, Delegate Carrico patroned an identical bill to HB 2547, which passed both houses of the General Assembly, but were ultimately vetoed by Governor Kaine.
