Today, Montville Mayor Joseph Jaskiewicz (D) confirmed to NRA that no new discharge ordinance has been drafted for introduction and that the proposed ordinance introduced at last month's council meeting will appear on Monday's council agenda but ONLY for the purpose of requesting its withdrawal.
Acknowledging the overwhelming opposition to the measure, Mayor Jaskiewiscz told the NRA today, "the people have spoken and I am asking the council to withdraw the proposal."
Because the council must vote affirmatively to withdraw the ordinance, concerned citizens are encouraged to politely request that council members support the mayor's motion for the measure to be formally dropped.
