Please Thank State Legislators Supporting “Tardy Amendment”
Critical pro-gun legislation proposed by State Representative Josh Tardy (R-Newport) failed by one vote in Augusta on Tuesday, April 11.
The “Tardy Amendment” would have added vital provisions to LD 1938, “An Act To Protect Victims of Domestic Violence,” correcting the problem of relinquished firearms from being damaged and sometimes never returned to the owner after a “bad faith” order is terminated.
Because of procedural purposes, a “no” vote was the right vote for LD 1938. To view roll-call details and to see how your Legislator voted, click here.
Thank you to all those who were present for Tuesday’s House vote
and to everyone who contacted their State Legislators!
If your State Legislators voted in favor of the “Tardy Amendment,” please be sure to thank them for their support. If they voted against the amendment, please be sure to let them know you are a constituent and will remember their vote at election time in November.
