The House Criminal Justice Committee will be holding a hearing on House Bill 541, "Castle Doctrine" legislation, Tuesday, March 28. Sponsored by Representative Steven Buehrer (R-74), HB 541 restores Ohioans right to self-defense by removing the “duty to retreat” in the face of a criminal attack and provides civil immunity in such situations.
It is unreasonable that victims of crime should have to worry about being arrested or prosecuted if they use force to defend themselves or their family!
The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 28, at 2:30 p.m. in Room 121 of the State House at the capitol. Please plan on attending to show your support for HB 541. If you are unable to attend, please contact your State Representative and ask him or her to support your right to self-defense by voting in favor of HB 541.
