The Toronto Star says the Liberal government will announce new and tougher laws to fight crime and is also considering suing U.S. gun makers because their products are smuggled into Canada and used by Canadians to kill other Canadians. Blaming the U.S. is nothing more than political claptrap. If the government was half as good at fighting crime as they are at fighting elections, Canada would be a much safer country.

Today, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois struck down provisions of the Protect Illinois Communities Act (PICA) that prohibit “assault weapons” and “large-capacity magazines” in an NRA-supported case, Barnett v. Raoul.
