On Tuesday, February 24th, the Indiana Senate passed House Bill 1349 by a vote or 40-8.Under the bill, gun owners whose weapons have been stolen could not be sued for injuries or deaths resulting from misuse of those weapons.
The Indiana House must now vote on whether to agree with the Senate changes to House Bill 1349, which would send the bill to Gov. Joe Kernan, or have a conference committee appointed to resolve conflicts between the House and Senate versions. Please contact your representative and urge them to support House Bill 1349 as passed by the Senate. You can find your representative`s contact information by clicking on "Write Your Representatives" feature on the right. Also, please contact Governor Kernan and ask him to sign House Bill 1349 when he receives it from the House.
