After bagging a pair of pheasants on a much-publicized hunt in Iowa, Sen. John Kerry is drawing a bead on his party`s presidential front-runner, Howard Dean. He`s using an issue that`s proven mortal for some Democratic officeholders -- gun control.
"In the 1990s, when I was fighting to get the assault weapons ban, Howard Dean was appealing to the National Rifle Association for their support and was on the opposite side," Kerry said in a telephone interview yesterday.
