The Department of Natural Resources plans to issue 9,050 more turkey hunting permits next spring than it did for the spring 2003 turkey hunting season. Meeting at the Sandhill Wildlife Area on June 26, the DNR Turkey Advisory Committee established the preliminary number of spring, 2004 turkey hunting permits at 177,470.
