A federal panel has struck down or rewrote most of the campaign finance reform law signed into law last year. "As it stands, this decision creates a favored, privileged category of speech for big media conglomerates and politicians above that of the American public," said NRA Executive Director Wayne LaPierre. NRA filed the first suit March 27, 2002, hours after the bill became law. Both supporters and opponents said they`ve always known the eventual decision would be made by the Supreme Court.
