The Provincial government announced on Tuesday that they will not prosecute any firearm registration charges as the federal government prepares for the July 1st deadline for gun owners to register their guns. "We have been opposed to the federal government`s registry scheme right from the beginning," said Attorney General Gord Mackintosh. Typically, the Winnipeg Police would charge a person and the Province is required to prosecute the charge.
