On Monday, February 10, the Veterans & Military Affairs Committee of the Colorado Senate will consider Senate Bill 24, which establishes a statewide Right to Carry system. Sponsored by Senator Ken Chlouber (R-4), SB 24 will be heard at 1:30 pm in Room 353 of the Capitol.
Under the current permit system in place in Colorado, standards vary from county to county and local sheriffs may even refuse to grant any permits. If a statewide, "shall issue" system is established, law-abiding gun owners will no longer be subject to this arbitrary and unfair system.
Governor Owens has already expressed a desire to see Right to Carry become law, so if SB 24 is passed Colorado will finally have a just permit system. But, for SB 24 to pass NRA members must let their legislators know how important it is.
Gun owners need to makes their voices heard. Contact your Senator at (888) 473-8136 and urge them to support Right to Carry, or enter your ZIP code below if you are unsure who your senator is.
