The Piedmont City Council last week approved the first reading of an ordinance that revokes sections of the City Code related to gun control. By a 4-1 vote, council members revoked gun-control laws that have been superseded by California`s state statutes. These laws included requirements for trigger locks on the sale of firearms, as well as a comprehensive ordinance involving the prohibition of "Saturday night specials" and sales of "junk guns."
