Kansas - Reckless Lawsuit Preemption Jumps First Hurdle

Tuesday, February 5, 2002

February 5, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved SB 116, the NRA supported reckless lawsuit preemption bill. This bill seeks to prevent anti-gun activists from attempting to bankrupt the gun industry by filing baseless lawsuits. To date, 27 other states have already enacted similar measures.

Thank you to all members who contacted the Senate Judiciary Committee in support of this bill. Senate Bill 116 now moves to the Senate floor for a vote.
