Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund is endorsing Ken Cuccinelli for Virginia Attorney General. Ken Cuccinelli’s unwavering support of our Second Amendment rights has earned him an “A+” rating.
“Ken Cuccinelli has been a leader in the Virginia State Senate in defending our right to keep and bear arms. He has been and will continue to be a champion of law-abiding gun owners, hunters and sportsmen,” said Chris W. Cox, NRA’s chief lobbyist and chairman of NRA-PVF.
Ken Cuccinelli said, "I am proud to receive the endorsement of the National Rifle Association. I have spent my years in office working to protect the Second Amendment and the constitutional rights of all law-abiding Virginians. If elected, I vow to continue to support law-abiding Virginia gun owners, hunters and sportsmen."
In the state senate, Cuccinelli was instrumental in the fight for privacy and safety of concealed carry permit holders’ confidential information. In 2006, Cuccinelli voted in favor of SB 58, which removes the option for localities to require that an applicant for a concealed handgun permit submit fingerprints as part of the application. Earlier this year, Cuccinelli voted in favor of HB 2144, which would restrict access to the Virginia concealed carry permit holder list maintained by the Virginia State Police. This law makes that information confidential and puts a stop to abuses of the concealed carry permit holder list.
“Cuccinelli is the best choice for NRA members and law-abiding Virginia hunters and gun owners,” concluded Cox. “I encourage all freedom loving Virginians to vote Ken Cuccinelli for Attorney General on November 3.”
