The 16th Annual Firearms Law Seminar will be held on Friday, May 3,, 2013, as part of NRA's Annual Meetings. The gold standard in firearms CLE classes, this day-long seminar provides legal instruction for practicing attorneys who represent firearms owners and licensed dealers, attorneys wishing to expand their practice to such clients, and others having an interest in Second Amendment law. The nationally-renowned faculty will include prominent criminal defense attorney George Parnham; Charles Cotton, range law expert and NRA Board Member; Dr. Theodore Bromund of The Heritage Foundation; Robert Dowlut, NRA General Counsel; Texas Supreme Court Justice Nathan L. Hecht; and officials from the F.B.I. and A.T.F. The special luncheon speaker will be The Honorable J. Kenneth Blackwell. Topics to be discussed include self-defense law, federal firearms disqualifications and the restoration of rights, working with F.B.I. National Instant Criminal Background Check System, protecting shooting ranges, new state and federal legislation after the Newtown tragedy, misdemeanor domestic violence convictions, advising and representing FFL’s, international treaties and agreements, and the National Firearms Act and NFA Trusts.
Tuition for practicing attorneys is $245 if registered before April 19, 2013. Tuition for other attendees is $150 if registered before April 19, 2013. The fee for active duty military and police officers is $75. Current law and college students are $50. Tuition includes the full-day course, a set of study materials, continental breakfast, luncheon, and post-course reception. Pricing is available for half-day attendance and luncheon-only attendance.
