As previously reported, the New Jersey Senate passed A.2006/S.993, legislation banning certain popular firearms and restricting the maximum capacity of ammunition magazines from 15 to 10 rounds. A.2006/S.993, as amended, passed yesterday in the Assembly by a 44 to 34 vote.
Sponsored by anti-gun state Senator Loretta Weinberg (D-37), A.2006/S.993 is another step towards disarming law-abiding New Jersey residents and tipping the balance in favor of criminals who prefer an unarmed populace as victims.
A.2006/S.993 will now be sent to Governor Chris Christie (R) for his consideration and action. Please contact Governor Christie and respectfully, but insistently, ask that he veto A.2006/S.993 and protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding New Jersey gun owners. The Governor’s contact information is provided below.
