Yesterday, the Wisconsin Senate passed Assembly Bill 368 unanimously by voice vote. AB 368 will now be sent to Governor Scott Walker (R) for his signature.
This long-awaited legislation will align Wisconsin with forty other states that already allow their residents to purchase rifles and shotguns in non-contiguous states, provided that the purchase or transfer complies with state and federal law. Currently, Wisconsin residents can only purchase long guns in bordering states. It would also allow for the sale of rifles and shotguns to residents of non-contiguous states. AB 368 repeals this arbitrary restriction, allowing Wisconsin residents the freedom to purchase long guns in states beyond their immediate borders.
The NRA thanks all of the state lawmakers who voted for AB 368, and its lead sponsors, state Representative John Spiros (R-86) and Senator Tom Tiffany (R-12). Please e-mail Governor Walker and respectfully urge him to sign AB 368 into law.
