Today, Senate Bill 76, introduced by state Senator James Settelmeyer (R-17), passed unanimously in the Assembly Judiciary Committee. SB 76 will improve the concealed carry weapon (CCW) firearms application process by requiring qualification with a revolver or semi-automatic pistol if a CCW holder wishes to carry either. Current law requires an applicant to qualify with each style of handgun if he or she wishes to carry both.
SB 76 passed in the state Senate by a unanimous 21-0 vote on March 4. This bill will now go before the entire Assembly for approval, and a vote could happen soon. Please contact your state Assemblyman and urge him or her to vote in favor of this important concealed carry reform.
