Contact Leadership TODAY and respectfully ask that they appoint pro-gun legislators to this conference committee
House Bill 8, a funding measure that transfers to Missouri sheriffs the authority for issuance of Right-to-Carry permit certificates and the permits themselves from the Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR), is expected to be sent to a conference committee. As previously reported, there have been several reports that the DOR was collecting and sharing personal documents from individuals receiving a concealed carry endorsement with third parties, including the federal government.
Because of this serious violation of trust that occurred with the recordkeeping and sharing of these private documents, the Missouri Legislature is taking swift action to remove DOR’s role in the permit issuing process. Missouri Senate President Pro Tem Tom Dempsey and Senate Majority Leader Ron Richard are leading the charge to protect your privacy, and secured HB 8’s unanimous passage in the Missouri Senate.
The NRA thanks the Missouri Senate for passing House Bill 8, but please e-mail state Senators Dempsey and Richard, and thank them for leading the fight in the Senate to protect your right to privacy.

HB 8 now goes to an expected conference committee. Anti-gun forces are at work to undermine HB 8’s intent. Therefore, it is critical pro-gun legislators are appointed to this conference committee. Please contact Senate President Tom Dempsey and House Speaker Tim Jones, and respectfully ask them to appoint pro-gun legislators to this conference committee.
