Scheduled to be voted on in the state House today, recent mandatory minimum bill language (previously reported here) was altered to focus on felons, repeat offenders and gang members instead of citizens who wish to carry only for self-defense.
However, due to unforeseen procedural requests, this bill was removed from the board and not voted on. The Illinois House of Representatives has adjourned from its veto session. Its regular session will convene in January.
