The City of Henderson Board of Commissioners is holding a special meeting tonight at 5:30 p.m. to discuss a proposed ordinance that would prohibit persons from carrying concealed firearms in city owned or controlled buildings. To view this proposed ordinance, see pages 142 to 144 of the meeting agenda from the January 22 City Commissioners meeting.
State statute gives localities the ability to enact such legislation, however, it is not mandated by the state. This proposal proves that city officials in Henderson are going out of their way to inhibit our Second Amendment rights.
Please attend tonight’s meeting to voice your opposition to this unnecessarily restrictive proposal and to stand up for our Right to Keep and Bear Arms. This meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Center’s Third Floor Assembly Room located at 222 First Street.
If you are unable to attend tonight’s meeting, please contact City Commissioners and express your opposition to these arbitrary restrictions being imposed on lawful firearms owners in Henderson.
