Just before 3a.m. a woman in Oklahoma City, Okla. was in her garage checking her e-mail, while her children were asleep in the house. The woman was working on her computer when she noticed that an intruder was attempting to enter her garage through the garage door, which had been left slightly open. Fearing for her children’s safety, the woman retrieved her 9mm pistol and fired at the criminal, the shots missed, but caused the man to flee. The police noted that the homeowner acted in accordance with the law, since Oklahoma has protected the rights of its citizens with Castle Doctrine legislation.
