Two men bought soft drinks in Cecil Saunders' York County, VA., general store, shot him in the knee with a cal. .22 pistol, then demanded all the cash. The storekeeper gave them over $400 in bills and the bandits fled to their car. Saunders grabbed his cal. .38 revolver and hobbled to the door, firing at the running felons. Police found the car and the bandits parked a few miles down the road, both occupants bleeding from lung and groin wounds.
